Fontenelle Reservoir is currently at elevation 6488.74 ft (63% full) and releases are approximately 2,000 cfs. The current rate of inflow is roughly 3,300 cubic feet per second (cfs) and will continue increasing with forecasted precipitation and increasing runoff.
Due to recent storm activity, the forecasted April-July inflow volume has increased substantially since early May, and the official forecast issued in mid-May increased from 530,000 acre-feet to 650,000 acre-feet (90 percent of average). Fontenelle will be operated to accommodate the increased forecast.
Therefore, beginning Monday, May 23, 2016, at 8:00 a.m., releases from Fontenelle will be increased to 2,600 cfs according to the following schedule:
After the final change at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 24, 2016, releases will remain 2,600 cfs until further notice. All times identified in this directive are local time (Mountain Standard Time) and not hour ending.
