See the information below on the reduction of flows from the Fontenelle Dam, which should help the fishing conditions out tremendously!
Fontenelle Reservoir is at elevation 6505.1 ft (98% full) and releases are currently 7,000 cfs. The current rate of inflow is roughly 7,480 cubic feet per second (cfs), with recent daily averages ranging from 6,440 cfs to 7,520 cfs.
Spring runoff has likely peaked and weather conditions are expected to be warm and relatively dry for the next two weeks. It is anticipated that reservoir inflows will begin to decline as result. Additional information regarding the current status of Fontenelle Reservoir can be found on the Reclamation website.
Fontenelle will be operated to accommodate the current hydrologic conditions. Beginning Tuesday, June 16th, 2015, at 8:00 a.m., releases from Fontenelle will be decreased to 6,000 cfs according to the following schedule:
Date | Time MST | Initial Release (cfs) | Change (cfs) | Final Release (cfs)
6/16/2015 | 0800 | 7000 | -250 | 6750
6/16/2015 | 1600 | 6750 | -250 | 6500
6/17/2015 | 0800 | 6500 | -250 | 6250
6/17/2015 | 1600 | 6250 | -250 | 6000 |
After the final change at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015, releases will remain at 6,000 cfs until further notice. All times identified in this notification are local time (Mountain Standard Time) and not hour ending.
Releases will likely vary throughout June in response to observed hydrology. Releases are generally expected to decline through the end of June and into July. This is subject to change as additional information becomes available.
